Burnout. I've had a rough six years or so and, this last year, I just completely burnt out and checked out, and my health was declining. I was in a constant cycle of toxic patterns, and I just felt completely drained and depleted, and I needed a change. I needed to do something to step outside of it and heal myself. I was like a shell of myself when I first got here. Emotionally, I had so many breakthroughs and I learned so much about myself and connected with myself again, and I came out of my shell. One of my friends that I made here said, I was in a cocoon the first day, and now I'm a butterfly.
Resistance to Counselling: I've always been resistant to counselling, like I thought I would come in and tell somebody what they wanted to hear.My counsellor was absolutely amazing.  it was like sitting down and talking to a friend. I ended up doing most of the talking and really figuring it out myself with her guidance, and it was just so comfortable and made such a huge difference for me.  I'm not reactive anymore and I can come from a more stable place when I'm dealing with situations.
Low Energy:  the first few days I was exhausted. I barely wanted to talk to anybody. I had no energy at all.  Definitely, I was just burnt out and tired all the time. I drank coffee a lot.I drank a lot energy drinks, like anything to get my body going, But then there comes that crash. And I wasn't eating the proper nutrients. I wasn't taking care of my body at all.And now I'm getting up earlier than I ever have. I have so much energy, I just feel great. I'm excited to start the day. My whole body just feels better.
And now I naturally have that energy, and I don't miss caffeine at all. I don't eat it. I feel great.
have energy, and if I have a moment when I'm feeling tired, I just let my body rest. And it's amazing. I spent so many years doing that [coffee and other stimulants] and never thought this was possible, just to feel this good all the time.
Sleep Issues:   My sleep was all over the place before I got here. I did sleep heavily the first few days, but I was waking up constantly, and it was never a restful sleep. My sleep improved a lot.  And now I go to sleep, and I sleep for six to eight hours, and I don't wake up, and I feel amazing in the morning.
Blood Sugar.  I've got type 2 diabetes. I was diagnosed 10 years ago, and I really haven't been taking care of it. And when I first came in, my morning sugars were around 14, which is not good. And the last morning I took my fasting blood sugar in the morning. It was at six. So that's a huge improvement. So it's varying between 6, 7, 8, but that's such a big improvement from just a few weeks ago.
Circulation Issues:  I did have some tingling on the sides of my toes.I can feel my toes again. They feel great. It's such a big difference.
Vaping:  I was smoking a pack or more a day.I haven't quit yet, but I have significantly reduced the amount that I'm smoking.  Now I'm down to maybe half a pack, which is huge for me and I'm, my goal going home , is to quit.  but now I think it's gonna be a lot easier than I thought it would be.

I've done so much for my body and I'm feeling so much better. And every time I smoke now, I'm looking and thinking, what am I doing? So I have no doubt it'll be a thing of the past.
Cough: I've had a terrible chronic cough for about a year now, and it was pretty bad when I first got here. With all the different things we've done, the supplements and the salt cocoon, I can breathe better.  I walked up a giant hill the other day and got to the top before I lost my breath. My cough is loosening up, and it's almost gone. My lungs feel better than they have in over a year.
Sinus Stuffiness and Pressure and Earaches: I've had, issues with my ears and earaches and sinus problems for years and years and years. And I do tend for them to get quite plugged up.Along with my cough, my sinuses are getting better every day, and my ear pain is gone. I haven't had any issues with my ear, and at least the last week, they haven't been bothering me. The first week, they were bothering me, and it just increasingly got better, and they feel great now. They don't feel plugged.
Tension Headaches: I've had a few concussions, but my last one, about four years ago, was quite bad in the back of my head. I've had really, really intense tension headaches with that and stiffness in my neck, all those things…  For years, I never had headaches until after my concussion, and after that, I had them four to five times a week.
Sometimes they were just a short period of time. Sometimes they could be for hours. It just depended.  Sometimes they were quite bad and it felt like a vice around my head, and it's hard to get through your day, get through work when you're feeling like that all the time. I didn't really have the option to stop and relax.
I haven't had a single tension headache since I've been here.  My head feels clearer and I think part of it, because the pain's gone.
Lower Back Pain:, Neck and Shoulders Stiffness My lower back was in a lot of pain.I can sit up straight now for long periods of time, which I haven’t been able to do in years.  I feel such a release in my neck and my shoulders and my head, and I'm comfortable again, and it feels great.
Digestive Issues/ IBS:  my stomach has been a mess for years, and I never felt like I had digested properly. I would have bloating, constipation, diarrhea, back and forth. My eating habits weren’t the best, but I really do think that the balance in my stomach has been off for a long time.Everything feels better. I'm not having any stomach issues. I haven't had any heartburn since I started eating here. I haven't had any bloating and stuff. I haven't had any digestive problems. They've all just been getting better and better by the day.
No appetite: I had no appetite at all. And, when I did, I didn't make good choices. And now I get up in the morning and I'm hungry. I'm ready for breakfast here, and I eat three meals a day, and I sometimes have a few apples. I have a hunger again, but I don't feel like snacking like I have in the past.

I just feel satisfied, and full, and good. And my body feels nourished and good, and it feels really great.

Experience Highlights:

  • Somatic Therapy – it really helped me connect my body and my mind together to work, to bring it all together and work through some of the repressed things I was dealing with.
  • I’ve learned so many good tools. I’ve really learned a lot about communication and how to better communicate in my relationships and life. I can ask for help again, and I couldn’t before.
