Who Am I?

Shannon Flaherty is a Yoga Therapist and Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapist. She studied at Ajna Yoga College and the Centre for Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy. Naturally curious, she continues to develop her understanding and practice through books, presentations, and workshops.

Shannon has been a student of mindfulness and the mind-body connection since her early teens, when she developed a yoga practice to support her through mental illness and eating disorder recovery. Her education and experience in sharing a mindful, body-centred approach to healing grew from her own recovery journey, and a desire to make these practices accessible to anyone who seeks them.

Shannon brings a grounded, wholehearted atmosphere to sessions, and believes strongly in the power of judgment-free connection– with self, others, and the natural world– for healing and wellness. Her intention is to provide a safe space for people to develop self-awareness, process and release body-stored experience, and feel empowered to share their authentic nature.

Outside of sessions, Shannon is an avid reader, writer, artist, and can most often be found outdoors with her dog– in the garden, by the ocean, or walking in the forest.
