Who Am I?

Marilyn has a Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology with a career in mental health services spanning close to 35 years and all age groups.  She has been connecting with individuals from vast cultural backgrounds, providing support and guidance, and assisting them on their road of recovery.

Meditation became an essential component of Marilyn’s deep interest in yoga and mindfulness as they relate to wellness and mental well being.  She has been practicing yoga and meditation for many years, integrating these practices into her daily life and therapeutic approaches.

Having had to give up high level Iyengar yoga after back surgery in 2003, Marilyn sought a way to continue her love of yoga.  She was introduced to mindful meditation to facilitate the recovery process which provided a way to discover stillness, contemplation, acceptance, and the power of loving kindness.  A melding of her love of yoga and mindful meditation occurred with Marilyn’s first yin yoga class and thus began a journey of exploration and experiences.

Marilyn’s passion is to share the wonders of mindful meditation and of ‘being’ instead of ‘doing’, and she is excited to share this passion with the Fresh Start guests.

Marilyn is an avid outdoors person. She enjoys swimming, cycling, hiking, snowshoeing, as well as simply sitting by the ocean and observing the wonders of nature.
