Who Am I?

Anita is passionate about natural fragrance. Her specialty is creating custom aromatic blends for each client, which is a precision process involving enormous knowledge and intuition. Her clients refer to her treatments as truly ‘transformational’. Essential oils are nourishing, but they are absorbed directly by the brain and require just tiny quantities to produce beneficial cleansing and healing effects on the entire body. Essential oils relate to the vibrational qualities of emotion and can be used not only to assist with physical health, but also towards mental, emotional and spiritual balance.

Anita spent many years ‘in the Yogi Cave’ – living in remote communities along the BC coast, where her first teacher, recognizing her gifts as an artisan and healer, introduced her to the study of aromatics, energy medicine, Ayurveda, kundalini yoga, shamanic work and intuitive healing. Anita has been practicing body work and essential oils since the early 1990’s – the very beginning of aromatherapy in BC. Since then she has been a member of the BC Association of Practicing Aromatherapists and is a Registered Aromatherapist (RA®) and Essential Oil Therapist (EOT®).

Anita one of only a handful in the world to graduate with a Diploma in Spiritual Phyto-Essencing™ – DiSPE (the use of essential oils for their psycho-spiritual qualities) from Dr. Berkowsky, N.D. – There are few specialists in this area, due the huge information base, in-depth knowledge required about hundreds of plants, their qualities and uses, and numerous case studies. It took Anita 7 years to complete the course, and she still continues her training.

Her other training includes: Natural Perfumery Certificate with Ayala Moriel Parfums Studio in Vancouver (3 years); Ayurveda Aromatherapy (Farida Irani – Subtle Energies Ayurveda Aromatherapy); Aromatherapy Chemistry with Beverley Hawkins); Advanced Aromatherapy, and Essential Oils in Cancer with Dr. Kurt Schnebelt; Aromatherapy Certificate with Michael Scholes: Hot and Cold, La Stone Therapy; Reflexology; European Lymphatic Drainage Massage; Reiki Level 1; Intermediate Healing from Nirvana Metaphysic and Healing Centre.

Anita is a master of Natural Perfumery. She designs and creates high quality perfumes using over 200 botanical essences over, above the 250 essential oils used in her aroma-therapy kit. Natural Perfumes are pure vibrational essences designed to last hours on the skin.

In addition to massage and aromatherapy, Anita is a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher. In this she has completed Levels 1-3, over 380 hours of training and taken such courses as: Life Cycles and Life Styles, Vitality and Stress, Mind and Meditation, and Twenty One Stages of Meditation. Anita also has a degree in Recreation Administration, has worked with remote Native Communities as a Community Development Consultant, owned a Spa and Healing Practice since 1993 and worked as a visual artist. She also has taken post-graduate courses in Art Therapy and Applied Behavioral Science.

Anita loves to spend time outdoors in all seasons; cross country skiing in winter up at Mount Washington, mountain biking, kayaking, and sailing. She also cultivates an aromatic herb and flower garden.
