Who Am I?

Annie has been an Art Programs Facilitator over 2.5 decades.  She has been trained in expressive arts, psychology, fine arts and counseling. Annie is a certified Hakomi Counselor through the Vancouver Hakomi Education Network; an Expressive Arts Educator and Consultant with Expressive Arts Florida; and a Trainer and Facilitator with The Painting Experience.

Annie’s life unfolded in more of a zigzag than a straight line. She has pursued many interests and worked in many different settings but the thread that bound it all together was supporting others in their life journey.

Raising a family of four daughters, including a step-daughter and two others with differing abilities, both challenged and enriched her life and led Annie to work in the disability field for many years as a facilitator and a trainer.  But that work took a turn when Annie attended a workshop in process painting through The Painting Experience at www.processarts.com, and she found herself returning to her background in art and psychology.

Annie has taught classes in creative arts with a focus on self-discovery and healing for cancer patients, hospice volunteers, etc.  She has excellent skills in working with individuals and groups helping people explore their inner landscape, using art, movement, writing and all forms of self-inquiry.

For the past 16 years Annie has been facilitating The Painting Experience workshops and also training facilitators in this method, as well as working online with painters from all over the world.  She has started her own Coaching Program called A Creative Life Journey, focusing on creative activities and engagement of each participant.

Annie currently lives in Courtenay and enjoys time with her daughters and grandchildren.  She values her community, the natural world and the arts.  Annie enjoys walking, hiking, cycling, yoga, dance and playing djembe.  She also loves to paint and collage and travels a lot for presenting workshops and continuous training.
